Alert Details
A Flood Warning has been issued by NWS Lake Charles LA. The alert is effective from June 18 at 4:57 PM CDT and remains in effect until June 19 at 6:00 PM CDT. It replaces a prior Flash Flood Warning.
Affected Areas
The warning covers Avoyelles Parish in central Louisiana. Flooding is already occurring in central and southern portions of the parish. Specific locations include Bunkie, Simmesport, Moreauville, Bordelonville, Cottonport, Mansura, Hessmer, Evergreen, Plaucheville, Dupont, Goudeau, Big Bend, and Hamburg.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
Expected Conditions
Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall will continue. Between 14 and 28 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.
