Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Flagstaff AZ. Effective from 10:06 AM MST to 1:00 PM MST on August 12, 2026. Severity: Severe. Urgency: Immediate. Certainty: Likely.

Affected Areas

Yavapai County in west central Arizona, including Chino Valley. Creeks, washes and rivers include Granite Creek, Little Chino Valley and Verde River.

What You Should Do

Flooding of washes and creeks will occur; some dirt roads will become muddy and impassable. Paved roads and underpasses could become flooded. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Expected Conditions

Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen, with additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch possible. Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, normally dry washes, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
