Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Tucson AZ. Effective from 10:16 PM MST August 30, 2026 until 1:15 AM MST August 31, 2026. Severity: Severe. Certainty: Likely. Urgency: Immediate.
Affected Areas
West Central Cochise County in southeastern Arizona, including Benson, St. David and Kartchner Caverns State Park. Affected highways include Route 90 between mile markers 291 and 301, Route 80 between mile markers 293 and 311, and Interstate 10 between mile markers 303 and 317.
What You Should Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
