Alert Details
A Flash Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Morristown TN. The alert is effective from August 14 at 7:23 PM EDT until August 14 at 10:30 PM EDT.
Affected Areas
The warning covers North Central Sullivan County in east Tennessee, Southeastern Scott County in southwestern Virginia, Southwestern Washington County in southwestern Virginia, and the City of Bristol in southwestern Virginia. Specific locations include Bristol Tn, Bristol Va, Walnut Hill, Nickelsville, Blountville, Hiltons and South Holston Dam. Affected highways include Interstate 81 in Tennessee between mile markers 70 and 75 and Interstate 81 in Virginia between mile markers 1 and 5.

Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible.
