Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Tucson AZ. Effective from August 5, 2026 at 10:22 PM MST until August 6, 2026 at 1:15 AM MST. Severity: Severe. Urgency: Immediate. Certainty: Likely.
Affected Areas
Southwestern Cochise County in southeastern Arizona. Specific locations include Benson, Whetstone, Huachuca City, St. David, Tombstone, Kartchner Caverns State Park, Fort Huachuca, Mescal, Fairbank and Charleston. Affected highways include Route 90 between mile markers 290 and 316, Route 80 between mile markers 294 and 327, Interstate 10 near mile marker 302 and between mile markers 307 and 308, and Route 82 between mile markers 47 and 67.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Expected Conditions
At 10:22 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
