Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Louisville KY. Effective from 4:38 AM CDT to 7:30 AM CDT on May 30, 2026. Severity: Severe. Urgency: Immediate. Certainty: Likely.
Affected Areas
Southwestern Butler County in south central Kentucky. Locations that will experience flash flooding include Morgantown, Rochester, Leetown, Dunbar, South Hill, Youngtown, Silver City, Dimple, Mining City and Pleasant Hill.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
Expected Conditions
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1.5 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
