A Flash Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service Boston/Norton MA. The alert is effective from August 3, 2026 at 12:00 PM EDT until August 3, 2026 at 3:00 PM EDT.
Affected Areas
The warning covers Central Bristol County and West Central Plymouth County in southeastern Massachusetts, as well as Eastern Bristol County and Newport County in Rhode Island. Locations that will experience flash flooding include Fall River, Taunton, Dartmouth, North Kingstown, Newport, Bristol, Middleborough, Somerset, Portsmouth, Middletown, Swansea, Tiverton, Westport, Raynham, Rehoboth, Warren, Lakeville, Freetown, Dighton and Berkley.

Expected Conditions
At noon EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen, with additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
