A Flash Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in State College PA. The alert is effective from 7:29 PM EDT on August 2, 2026, until 10:30 PM EDT on August 2, 2026.
Affected Areas
The warning covers southeastern Lycoming County in north central Pennsylvania. Locations that will experience flash flooding include Muncy, Hughesville, Montgomery, Lairdsville, Biggertown and Picture Rocks.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
Expected Conditions
At 7:29 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
