Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Denver CO. Effective from 5:31 PM MDT August 16, 2026, until 8:30 PM MDT August 16, 2026.
Affected Areas
Southeastern Lincoln County in east central Colorado, including Boyero. This includes Coon Creek, Rush Creek, Big Sandy Creek, and Folger Gulch.
What You Should Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flash flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland along creeks, and other low lying areas.
Expected Conditions
At 5:31 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the southern portions of the warned area.
