The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a Flash Flood Warning, effective from 4:50 AM CDT on May 6, 2026, until 6:30 AM CDT on the same day.
Affected Areas
The warning affects Crittenden County in Arkansas; DeSoto County and Marshall County in Mississippi; and Shelby County in Tennessee. Specific locations include Bartlett, Southaven, Collierville, Germantown, Olive Branch, West Memphis, Horn Lake, Hernando, Millington, Cordova, T O Fuller State Park, Meeman Shelby Forest State Park, Memphis, Lakeland, Arlington, Byhalia, Walls, Southeast Memphis, Midtown Memphis, and Whitehaven.

Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have already fallen, with expected additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches. The rainfall rate is 1.5 to 2.5 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected, affecting small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses, and other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
