Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Charleston WV. Effective from 1:53 PM EDT August 17, 2026 until 5:00 PM EDT August 17, 2026. Severity: Severe. Certainty: Likely. Urgency: Immediate.
Affected Areas
Northeastern Washington County in southeastern Ohio; West Central Tyler County in northern West Virginia; Northeastern Pleasants County in northwestern West Virginia. Specific locations include Point Lookout and Arvilla.

Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
