Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Denver CO. Effective from August 14 at 5:31 PM MDT until August 14 at 8:30 PM MDT.
Affected Areas
Northwestern Weld County in northeastern Colorado, including Grover and Hereford. Streams and drainages include Owl Creek, Little Crow Creek, Wildhorse Creek, West Fork Willow Creek, Howard Creek, North Fork Geary Creek, Robinson Creek, Little Owl Creek, Coal Creek, Crow Creek, Little Simpson Creek, Willow Creek, Geary Creek, Sand Creek and Simpson Creek.
What You Should Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Avoid excessive runoff from this storm which will cause flash flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland along creeks, and other low lying areas.
Expected Conditions
At 5:31 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen with additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
