Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Boise ID. Effective from 7:02 PM MDT August 15, 2026 until 9:00 PM MDT August 15, 2026.

Affected Areas

Northeastern Boise County in southwestern Idaho, including the Wapiti Fire burn scar and Grandjean.

What You Should Do

This is a life threatening situation. Move away from recently burned areas. If you encounter flood waters, climb to safety. Heavy rains will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep terrain.

Expected Conditions

Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Wapiti Fire Burn Scar. Up to 0.2 inches of rain have fallen. Expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 1 inch in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow consisting of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
