The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the affected areas. This alert is effective from 3:40 AM CDT on April 27, 2026, until 9:00 AM CDT.

The warning covers Leavenworth County in northeastern Kansas, including the following locations: Leavenworth, Lansing, Bonner Springs, De Soto, Tonganoxie, Basehor, Kansas City, Linwood, Easton, Reno, Fairmount, Jarbalo, Lowemont, and Fort Leavenworth.

Expected Conditions
Flash flooding is caused by thunderstorms, with between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain already fallen and additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches possible. This may lead to flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses, and other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
