Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Pittsburgh PA. Effective from August 2, 2026 at 1:17 PM EDT until 4:15 PM EDT.
Affected Areas
Eastern Jefferson County in east central Ohio, Southwestern Beaver County in western Pennsylvania, Brooke County and Hancock County in northern West Virginia. Locations include Weirton, Steubenville, Wellsburg, Toronto, Wintersville, Mingo Junction, Follansbee, Hooverson Heights, Chester, New Cumberland, Smithfield, Newell, Brilliant, Richmond, New Manchester, Empire and Stratton.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Expected Conditions
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches possible. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
