Affected Areas
Southeastern Madison County in north central Alabama, southwestern Jackson County in northeastern Alabama, and northeastern Marshall County in northeastern Alabama. Specific locations that may experience impacts include Southern Huntsville, Scottsboro, Owens Cross Roads, Hollywood, Powell, Grant, Gurley, Section, Woodville, Pleasant Groves, Dutton, Langston, Paint Rock, Lim Rock, Larkinsville, Trenton, Garth and Hampton Cove.
What You Should Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
Expected Conditions
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
