Alert Details
A Flash Flood Warning (FFW) has been issued by the National Weather Service in Flagstaff AZ. The alert is effective from June 15 at 4:39 PM MST until June 15 at 7:00 PM MST.
Affected Areas
The warning covers the Billy Fire scar in Gila County in east central Arizona. Specific locations include the Sierra Ancha Wilderness, State Route 288 between mile markers 276 and 286, Rose Creek Campground, and Elks Youth Camp.

This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall will cause extensive and severe flash flooding of creeks, streams, and ditches in the Billy Fire scar. Severe debris flows can also be anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may be washed away in places. If you encounter flood waters, climb to safety. Do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding.

Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Billy Fire scar. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen, with additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.5 inches possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
