Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Flagstaff AZ. Effective from August 8 at 4:47 PM MST until August 8 at 7:45 PM MST. Severity: Severe. Certainty: Likely. Urgency: Immediate.

Affected Areas

Gila County in east central Arizona, near and south of Young. Locations include Young and Pendleton Mesa. State Route 288 between mile markers 294 and 311.

What You Should Do

Flooding of washes and creeks will occur; some dirt roads will become muddy and impassable. Paved roads and underpasses could become flooded. Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

Expected Conditions

Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.75 to 1.75 inches are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Hazard includes life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, normally dry washes, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
