A Flash Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN. The alert is effective from June 7 at 3:02 PM CDT until June 7 at 6:00 PM CDT.
Affected Areas
The warning covers northeastern Freeborn County and southeastern Steele County in south central Minnesota. Locations that will experience flash flooding include Owatonna, Blooming Prairie, Ellendale, Geneva, Steele Center, Bixby, and Rice Lake State Park.

At 3:02 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain 6 miles northeast of Ellendale, or 11 miles south of Owatonna, moving north at 15 mph. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
