Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Wichita KS. Effective from 8:50 PM CDT June 18 until 12:45 AM CDT June 19.
Affected Areas
East Central Sumner County in south central Kansas, including Wellington, Oxford, and Wellington Airport.
What You Should Do
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
Expected Conditions
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible.
