Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Indianapolis IN. Effective from June 21 at 9:17 PM EDT until June 22 at 1:00 AM EDT. Severity: Severe. Urgency: Immediate. Certainty: Likely.
Affected Areas
Southwestern Lawrence County in south central Indiana, East Central Daviess County in southwestern Indiana, and Central Martin County in southwestern Indiana. Specific locations include Shoals, Mitchell, Lacy, Huron, and Indian Springs.
What You Should Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
Expected Conditions
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.75 and 3.25 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2.5 inches are possible. Flash flooding is already occurring. Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
