Southwestern Culberson County, Southwestern Jeff Davis County, and Northwestern Presidio County in southwestern Texas. Specific locations include Valentine and Lobo.
What You Should Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
Expected Conditions
At 4:05 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
