Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Huntsville AL. Effective from 6:55 PM CDT August 7, 2026 until 10:00 PM CDT August 7, 2026. Severity: Severe. Urgency: Immediate. Certainty: Likely.
Affected Areas
East Central Colbert County and Central Lauderdale County in northwestern Alabama. Specific locations that will experience flash flooding include Florence, Muscle Shoals, Killen, St. Florian, Underwood-Petersville, Ford City, Center Star, Elgin, Kingtown, Oakland and Whitehead.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Expected Conditions
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
