Alert Details
A Flash Flood Warning (event code FFW) has been issued by the National Weather Service in Lincoln IL. The alert is effective from June 21 at 3:56 PM CDT until June 21 at 7:00 PM CDT.
Affected Areas
The warning covers northwestern Clay County and southern Effingham County in south central Illinois. Locations that will experience flash flooding include Watson, Dieterich, Edgewood, Mason, Bible Grove, Heartville, Iola, Hord, and Effingham County Airport. This includes Interstate 57 between mile markers 143 and 154, as well as Fulfer Creek, Limestone Creek, Little Panther Creek, Little Muddy Creek, Dieterich Creek, Little Bishop Creek, Second Creek, Little Salt Creek, Sutton Creek, Dismal Creek, Brush Creek, Lucas Creek, Panther Creek, Crabapple Creek, Brockett Creek, Big Muddy Creek, Crooked Creek, Little Wabash River, Georgetown Creek, Island Creek, Salt Creek, and Bishop Creek.

Expected Conditions
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have already fallen, with additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
