Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Wakefield VA. Effective from August 4 at 1:54 PM EDT until August 4 at 4:00 PM EDT. Severity: Severe. Certainty: Likely. Urgency: Immediate.
Affected Areas
Southeastern Chesterfield County in central Virginia; Northwestern Prince George County in south central Virginia; City of Colonial Heights in central Virginia; City of Hopewell in south central Virginia. Specific locations include Hopewell, Colonial Heights, Fort Lee, Virginia State University, Chester, Ettrick, Meadowville, Birchett Estate and Jordan Point Country Club.

Expected Conditions
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen in the past 20 to 30 minutes. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 1.5 inches in 20 minutes. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
