Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Wakefield VA. Effective from August 4, 2026 at 2:55 PM EDT until August 4, 2026 at 6:00 PM EDT. Severity: Severe. Urgency: Immediate. Certainty: Likely.
Affected Areas
Southwestern Charles City County in east central Virginia; Northeastern Prince George County in south central Virginia; Surry County in southeastern Virginia. Specific locations include Disputanta, Prince George, Garysville, Burrowsville, Jordans Point, Barham, Oak Hill Corner, Prince George Golf, Barnetts and Wayside.

Expected Conditions
At 2:55 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 2.5 inches of rain have fallen in less than one hour. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 4 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 3 inches are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
