Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Tucson AZ. Effective from August 5 at 11:08 PM MST until August 6 at 2:15 AM MST. Severity: Severe. Urgency: Immediate. Certainty: Likely.
Affected Areas
Central Pima County in southeastern Arizona. Specific locations include Three Points, Valencia West and Ryan AirField. Highways affected: Route 86 between mile markers 137 and 162; Route 286 between mile markers 17 and 45.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Washes, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
Expected Conditions
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
