Alert Details
A Flash Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Louisville KY. The alert is effective from May 24, 2026 at 2:10 PM EDT until May 24, 2026 at 5:15 PM EDT.
Affected Areas
The warning covers North Central Bourbon County, Southeastern Harrison County, and Northwestern Nicholas County in central Kentucky. Locations that will experience flash flooding include Cynthiana, Colville, Venus, Buena Vista, Oddville, Morning Glory, Barefoot, Lair and Shawhan.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Expected Conditions
At 2:10 PM EDT, between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen with additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches possible. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Public reports indicate impassable roads in eastern Harrison County.
