Clinton County in central Indiana; Northern Hamilton County in central Indiana; Western Howard County in central Indiana; Tipton County in central Indiana; Southern Carroll County in north central Indiana. Specific locations that will experience flash flooding include Kokomo, Frankfort, Tipton, Flora, Rossville, Mulberry, Russiaville, Kirklin, Atlanta, Sharpsville, Burlington, Michigantown, Kempton and Indian Heights.
What You Should Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
Expected Conditions
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2.5 inches are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
