Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Lincoln IL. Effective from August 14, 2026 at 11:56 PM CDT until August 15 at 6:00 AM CDT. Severity: Severe. Urgency: Immediate. Certainty: Likely.
Affected Areas
Fulton County, Knox County, Mason County, Peoria County, Tazewell County and Woodford County in Illinois. Specific areas include Northeastern Mason County, Southern Peoria County, Tazewell County, Southwestern Woodford County, Fulton County and Southern Knox County. Locations that will experience flash flooding include Peoria, Pekin, East Peoria, Morton, Canton, Eureka, Lewistown, Washington, Bartonville, Creve Coeur, West Peoria, Abingdon, Marquette Heights, Farmington, Tremont, Elmwood, Bellevue, Mackinaw, Delavan and Manito. Also includes Banner Marsh State Fish and Wildlife Area, Powerton Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area, Rice Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area, Sand Ridge State Forest, Spring Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area and Mackinaw River State Fish and Wildlife Area. Highways affected include Interstate 74 between mile markers 82 and 112, Interstate 155 between mile markers 12 and 31, and Interstate 474 between mile markers 0 and 14.

Expected Conditions
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen with additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 4 inches possible. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
