Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS San Angelo TX (NOAA). Effective from May 24 at 10:11 PM CDT until May 25 at 1:15 AM CDT. Severity: Severe. Urgency: Immediate. Certainty: Likely.
Affected Areas
Northwestern Brown County in west central Texas and northeastern Coleman County in west central Texas. Specific locations include Brownwood, Coleman, Early, Santa Anna, Bangs, Grosvenor, Lake Brownwood Near Thrifty, Lake Brownwood, Byrds, Lake Brownwood State Park, Burkett, Cross Cut, Thrifty, Echo and Owens.
What You Should Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Expected Conditions
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.75 to 1.75 inches are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Hazard: Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
