Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Charleston WV. Effective from 2026-08-05T19:52:00-04:00 until 2026-08-05T22:45:00-04:00. Severity: Severe. Urgency: Immediate. Certainty: Likely.
Affected Areas
North Central Boone County, Central Kanawha County and West Central Clay County in central West Virginia. Specific locations include Charleston, South Charleston, Chesapeake, Marmet, Belle, Clendenin, Coal Fork, Pinch, Elkview, Glen, Racine and Ashford. Affected highways include Interstate 77 between mile markers 96 and 103, Route 119 near mile marker 73 and between 79 and 80, West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 86 and 95, and Interstate 79 near mile markers 1, 5 and between 19 and 21.

Expected Conditions
