Alert Details
The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a Flash Flood Warning, effective from 12:19 PM CDT until 3:30 PM CDT on May 8, 2026.
Affected Areas
This warning affects Ascension, East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Livingston, Tangipahoa, and West Baton Rouge parishes in Louisiana. Specific locations include Baton Rouge, Zachary, Baker, Denham Springs, Plaquemine, Port Allen, Oak Hills Place, St. Gabriel, Walker, Addis, Brusly, Livingston, French Settlement, Albany, Rosedale, Port Vincent, Springfield, Shenandoah, Central, and Old Jefferson. It also impacts Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 142 and 172, Interstate 12 between mile markers 1 and 34, and Interstate 110 between mile markers 1 and 8.

Expected Conditions
Thunderstorms are producing heavy rain, with 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain already fallen and an expected rainfall rate of 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. This will cause flash flooding in small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses, and other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
