Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Charleston WV (NOAA). Effective from 2026-06-18T07:55:00-04:00 until 2026-06-18T11:00:00-04:00.
Affected Areas
Southeastern Athens County in southeastern Ohio, Washington County in southeastern Ohio, and central Wood County in northwestern West Virginia. Specific locations include Parkersburg, Marietta, Belpre, St. Marys, Coolville, Vienna, Williamstown, Belmont, Boaz, Lubeck, Washington, Mineralwells, Newport, Matamoras, North Hills, Fleming, Blennerhassett, Devola, Davisville and Little Hocking. Highways impacted include Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 169 and 186, Interstate 77 in Ohio between mile markers 1 and 7, and Route 50 in West Virginia between mile markers 1 and 15.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free 800 401 9535 when you can do so safely.
Expected Conditions
At 7:55 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Hazard is flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. Impacts include flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
