Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC. Effective from 2026-08-02T21:36:00-04:00 until 2026-08-03T00:45:00-04:00. Severity: Severe. Urgency: Immediate. Certainty: Likely.

Central Albemarle County in central Virginia and the City of Charlottesville in central Virginia. Specific locations include Charlottesville, Ivy, Scott Stadium, Flordon, Newcomb Hall, Barracks, and Monticello.

At 9:36 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
