Alert Details
A Flash Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa TX. The alert is effective from September 24, 2026 at 4:16 AM CDT until September 24, 2026 at 8:15 AM CDT.
Affected Areas
The warning covers Southwestern Culberson County in southwestern Texas. Locations that will experience flash flooding include Van Horn, Plateau, Culberson County Airport, Lobo, as well as portions of Interstate 10, U.S. Highway 90, and State Highway 54.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen in the past 1 to 2 hours.
