FFWSLC The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... South Central Kane County in southern Utah... * Until 545 PM MDT. * At 239 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 0.75 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of slot canyons, normally dry washes, creeks, streams, and the Paria River. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Big Water, Buckskin Gulch, Paria Canyon, Wire Pass, Wahweap Creek and Coyote Creek. This includes US Route 89 between mile markers 1 and 24.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
