Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS Charleston WV. Effective from August 16, 2026 at 1:49 AM EDT until August 16, 2026 at 5:45 AM EDT. Severity: Severe. Urgency: Immediate. Certainty: Likely.
Affected Areas
Northwestern Morgan County in southeastern Ohio and central Perry County in southeastern Ohio. Specific locations include New Lexington, Crooksville, Roseville, Somerset, Perry State Forest, Junction City and Eagleport. Flash flooding is already occurring with road closures and water rescues reported.
What You Should Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free 800 401 9535 when you can do so safely.
Expected Conditions
Thunderstorms producing heavy rain. Between 2.5 and 4 inches of rain have fallen with additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch possible. Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
