Flash Flood Warning issued by NWS San Angelo TX. Effective from May 19 at 1:12 PM CDT until May 19 at 4:15 PM CDT.
Affected Areas
Southeastern Coke County and northeastern Tom Green County in west central Texas. Specific locations include Orient, Tennyson, and the intersection of Highway 208 and Ranch Road 2662. Low water crossings mentioned include Mule Creek Road crossing Mule Creek, Poverty Canyon crossing Mule Creek, Saynor crossing Mule Creek, Rawlins crossing, and Lometa crossing Liveoak Creek.
What You Should Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. In hilly terrain, do not attempt to cross flooded roads; find an alternate route.
Expected Conditions
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen, with additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches possible. Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
