What You Should Do
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Schedule frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments during outdoor work. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 911.
Expected Conditions
Dangerously hot late-season conditions expected with high temperatures up to 112 to 116 in Death Valley and the Colorado River Valley; up to 105 to 110 in the Las Vegas Valley, Moapa Valley, and Pahrump Valley. Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat.
