Coastal Flood Warning issued by NWS Upton NY. Effective from September 25 at 4:44 PM EDT through September 27 at 6:00 PM EDT.
Affected Areas
Bronx, Northwest Suffolk, Northern Queens and Northern Nassau Counties.
What You Should Do
Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
Expected Conditions
1 to 2 ft, locally 2 1/2 ft, of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. Breaking waves of 3 to 6 ft along with elevated water levels will result in areas of dune erosion.
Timeline
During the times of high tide until 6 PM EDT Sunday. The highest water levels are likely with the Saturday midday and possibly Sunday midday high tides. Another round of minor to moderate coastal flooding is possible for the Sunday afternoon high tide cycle.
