A deepening area of low pressure north of the Hawaiian Islands will draw deep tropical moisture northward, resulting in a threat for heavy rain over Kauai and Oahu tonight through Thursday. * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Oahu, Kauai, and Niihau. * WHEN...Through Thursday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Flood prone roads and other low lying areas may be closed due to elevated runoff and overflowing streams. Urban areas may receive more significant flooding and property damage due to rapid runoff. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms will develop tonight and continue through Thursday as deep tropical moisture is drawn northward over the state. Training of heavy showers containing intense rain rates will be possible.
