...The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Texas... Devils River At Pafford Crossing near Comstock affecting Val Verde County. ...Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and increased in duration for the following rivers in Texas... Devils River At Bakers Crossing 19N Of Comstock affecting Val Verde County. Devils River At Cauthorn Ranch Near Juno affecting Val Verde County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Devils River at Bakers Crossing 19N Of Comstock. * WHEN...From this morning to late Friday night. * IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, (3.0 meters), Moderate lowland flooding is several feet over the Bakers Crossing bridge at Highway 163. Flow is well into the flood plain and very dangerous to campers and river recreationists above Juno to Amistad Reservoir. At 12.0 feet, (3.7 meters), Campers, automobiles and equipment near the river above Juno to Amistad Reservoir can be washed downstream. The river is very turbulent at this level and dangerous for inexperienced swimmers, canoeists and kayakers. Five feet of flow covers the Highway 163 bridge below Juno. At 8.0 feet, (2.4 meters), Moderate lowland flooding reaches the Highway 163 bridge floor several miles below Juno. This level is turbulent and dangerous for inexperienced swimmers, canoeists and kayakers. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 6:15 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 6.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 4.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 6:15 AM CDT Thursday was 6.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.5 feet late this morning. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 6.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
