...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in New Mexico... Rio Puerco Near Bernardo affecting Socorro County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Rio Puerco near Bernardo. * WHEN...Until late Saturday night. * IMPACTS...At 19.5 feet, the water level in the Lower Rio Puerco will begin to threaten several homes and structures in the village of San Francisco between Interstate 25 and the Rio Grande. Further rises in water levels would begin to flood the village of San Francisco. The last time the water level reached 19.5 feet in the Rio Puerco near Bernardo was August 10 2006. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 PM MDT Friday the stage was 19.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 18.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:00 PM MDT Friday was 19.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.0 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 19.5 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.5 feet on 08/10/2006. - http://www.weather.gov/abq/emergencyprepflood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
