...The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Nebraska... Lincoln Creek Near Seward affecting Seward County. Additional information is available at water.noaa.gov. The next statement will be issued this afternoon at 100 PM CDT. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Lincoln Creek near Seward. * WHEN...From early this morning to Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Backwater effects the mouth of the creek and may affect the gage as well. When both the Blue and Lincoln Creeks are high and overflowing, a lake is created near the gage. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:45 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 14.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage early this morning to 18.7 feet this morning. It will then fall this evening. It will rise to 17.8 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow afternoon to 7.4 feet early Sunday afternoon. It will rise to 7.7 feet early Monday afternoon. It will then fall again and remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 18.6 feet on 06/16/1982. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
