...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Missouri...Illinois... Mississippi River at Louisiana. Mississippi River at Clarksville. River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 48 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Louisiana. * WHEN...From Saturday evening to late Wednesday night. * IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, The first quarter mile of Edison Avenue beyond the railroad tracks begins flooding near this height. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 PM CDT Friday the stage was 13.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow evening to a crest of 15.6 feet early Sunday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Tuesday evening. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
What the agency told people to do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even higher than predicted.
