The notice as issued
* WHAT...Flooding caused by earlier excessive rainfall is ongoing. * WHERE...East Central Nuckolls County in south central Nebraska... Northern Thayer County in south central Nebraska... * WHEN...Until 730 PM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1034 AM CDT, various rainfall observations, automated river gauges, and ground-truth reports from emergency management personnel indicated that at least 3-5 inches of rain had fallen within the Warning area over the last 48 hours, resulting in continued flooding along area creeks and rivers. A river gauge along the Little Blue River at Hebron reported a stage of 14.9 feet at 1015 AM CDT, which was 1.4 feet above minor flood stage of 13.5 feet. As a result, minor flooding is ongoing both upstream and downstream of Hebron along the Little Blue. Also, a gauge along the Big Sandy Creek near Alexandria reported a stage of 15.0 feet at 945 AM CDT, which was 0.5 feet above moderate flood stage of 14.5 feet, and is actually the highest water level there since 2015. This flooding has resulted in the closure of state Highway 53 just south of Alexandria. Going forward, it is likely that water levels will start to crest and eventually slowly fall along the Little Blue River and Big Sandy Creek sometime on Friday, but exact timing is still a bit uncertain as upstream water continues to work into the area from the west. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Dry Creek, South Fork Big Sandy Creek, Little Blue River, Little Sandy Creek, Oak Creek, Walnut Creek, Elk Creek, Turtle Creek, Spring Creek, Balls Branch Rose Creek, Dry Sandy Creek and Big Sandy Creek. - Some locations that could experience flooding include... Hebron, Davenport, Bruning, Alexandria, Carleton, Oak and Belvidere. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
