* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Muscatine County in east central Iowa... Louisa County in southeastern Iowa... Washington County in southeastern Iowa... * WHEN...Until 1130 AM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 915 PM CDT, Local law enforcement reported several roads either partially inundated, or totally inundated with standing water and some are closed.
What the agency told people to do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
