...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Iowa... Cedar River near Conesville affecting Muscatine and Louisa Counties. Iowa River at Oakville affecting Louisa County. Iowa River at Wapello affecting Louisa County. Iowa River at Marengo affecting Iowa and Benton Counties.* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Iowa River at Wapello. * WHEN...Until Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, Agricultural land near the river is flooded and water covers most islands. Water starts rising onto secondary roads in Wapello Bottoms. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 21.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late Thursday evening and continue falling to 16.8 feet Tuesday, October 13. - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.

What the agency told people to do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
