Cedar River near Conesville affecting Louisa and Muscatine Counties. Iowa River at Oakville affecting Louisa County. Iowa River at Wapello affecting Louisa County. Iowa River at Marengo affecting Benton and Iowa Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring. * WHERE...Iowa River at Oakville. * WHEN...Until Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...At 11.5 feet, River Road is under water and the water is a few feet up onto the levee. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 PM CDT Monday the stage was 11.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Thursday morning. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
What the agency told people to do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. The next statement will be issued by Tuesday evening.
